really liked it

As with Malcolm’s other books is a prolific story teller.

The nice thing is that he tries to give a balanced approaches as to the various people in the stories told and giving opportunity for the reader to interpret the various stranger interactions.

A book I would hope would get people thinking more in the middle but seeing first hand the emotional charge of events it does make it less likely.

As for the cop story, I would draw parallels a personal story of being stopped by cops whilst being parked in Malaysia. A clear case of misunderstanding that lead to me being kicked in the face and having to apologise to the cops to let my girlfriend at the time and myself be released.

And most likely a spoiler of the book, but fiction deludes reality when reading each other and how we communicate.
