Ugh. I was disappointed in this book. I loved the first in the series and it moved at a great pace. This installment? Boring. I think there were just too many storylines being played out at the same time. Reyes and Danika would have been much more interesting if their story wasn't interrupted for Sabin, Paris, the Titans, the Hunters, etc.... There was just too much going on that I didn't care about Reyes and Danika like I cared about Maddox and Ashlyn.

I also think it was hard for me to really get invested in Reyes and Danika because his demon was pain. There had to be pain for him to have pleasure, he cut himself, he was constantly tormented with thoughts of hurting himself. And while I understand it has to be that way for the story to work, I didn't like it for myself. I know a lot of people like pleasure with their pain but I'm not among them. It turned me off and gave me even less to care about.

Bummer. I really thought this series was going to be another "keeper" for me.
