I was in need of something very light to read.

This book was on my mother-in-laws shelf and I thought it might make a good read. She mentioned that it is a lot like Friday Night Knitting Club. So here I am...

Actually the only thing that reminds me of FNKC is that different lives mix at one location and the readers learns about each character through their association with the Tea House.

The Tea House on Mulberry Street is about, of course, a tea house, but also it's patrons.

Unfortunately, half of the characters are so unscrupulous that it becomes hard to enjoy and you just want it to be over. At one point, you know what is coming next from a woman-scorn, that you can't help but cringe because you know it will be painful to read.

I gave it 3 stars because the other half of the characters where endearing and quite enjoyable to read.
