it was amazing
bookshelves: mystery-crime-suspense

A pleasure to read for the characters and the marvelous descriptions of Boston. Arch Dixon is a many-dimensional hero, perpetually ready to slip off the edge into anti-hero. And who could come up with a better sidekick than Kevin Day? Between Arch and Kevin, you get a whole Shakespearian crew of brilliance, stupidity, agony with an underline of black humor. It helps that Ulfelder has a marvelous sense of detail, whether describing Kevin's tent-like T shirt or Boston's gritty streets—always just enough, never too much.
The story line is clean and interesting ... kept me up into the wee hours. All in all, a top of the form mystery.
