it was amazing
bookshelves: fairy-tales, fantasy, ya

I love a fresh take on a fairy tale and Stepsister delivers. The story partially throws back to the original. One of the step sisters cuts off her hegel, and Isabelle, out heroine cuts of her toes. Neither gets the prince, and when their family's treatment of Ella gets out, they become reviled as the ugly stepsisters. Isabelle is fated to meet a bad end - - Fate knows it because she drew Isabelle's life map that way on purpose. But chance--aka the Marquis de Chance--thinks Isabelle can change her fate. So Fate and Chance make a wager - - who will win Isabelle's future? Or can Isabelle make her own future?
