Firstly Mona Awad is a master of words. Her writing is just fantastic.
What the fuck was this book? It was truly the strangest thing I have ever read. Strangely enjoyable and very funny at times, yet overall just weird. ⁣⁣
I don’t know who I would recommend this one to, it has lots of things which people would probably deem ‘offensive’ or ‘unnecessary’. It also has scenes of animal death. So go into it with that in mind if you do decide to pick it up. ⁣⁣
There was one amazing scene were first person plural was used and it was fantastic writing and worked so well. So yeah, it was strange but kind of brilliant. ⁣⁣
This fantasy story follows a graduate student Samantha who is studying at Warren (such a clever name). She develops a friendship / kind of joins a cult - with a group of girls called the ‘Bunnies’, who all call each other ‘Bunny’. That’s all you really need to know. ⁣⁣
I still don’t really know what I think of this one, I’m mulling it over.⁣⁣
