Anyone who reads Pocket Kings can identify with the character Frank W. Dixon (aka Chip Zero). First of all Frank W. Dixon is also the name of the Hardy Boys author but in this story, is it about another Frank W. Dixon. This Frank W. Dixon is an aspiring author. He has two books "Plague Boy" and "Love: A Horror Story" published. His books are not popular to the readers. His third book is basically a flop.

Frank has never been good at anything in his life. He tried sports but that didn't work out. He tried being an artist but his paintings and drawings were never sold. One day, he tried being a poker player which he found that he is pretty good at until his on-line personnel life collided with his real life.

The readers will identified with this character. Most of us tried to be good at something but never quite figure out what we are good at. We are the mediocre that tried to pull ahead of the pack but fail to. All of us want to do something that makes us stand out.
