it was amazing

Back when I was a teen and this book was relatively new, this was the first Koontz I read and it hooked me into being a lifelong fan. This one develops really slowly as he weaves the story of several characters---"strangers"---and only hints that they are tied together by some experience that was wiped from their memory. I just listened to the awesome Dick Hill's narration on the audio version and that made this story even better, as he brought the characters to life and gave the story even deeper feeling than it already has. Possibly Koontz's best?
