really liked it

As you merrily speed through this 316-page autobiography you eventually become aware that Lithgow, who is best known for his movie career (and his hilarious role in 3rd Rock from the Sun) isn’t going to talk about his on-screen experiences. Instead, he focuses on his stage career. On page 100 he turns 18 years old.

Although I was disappointed that Lithgow didn’t focus on the parts of his career that interest me most, this was still an entertaining and engrossing memoir. It was well written and nicely paced and he describes his relationship with his father in a very beautiful, touching way. I do hope Lithgow writes a second autobiography—one where he talks about his TV and movie roles. I liked this book a lot, but I came away wishing I could hear about the other side of his career.
