Catching Fire, Book 2 in the Hunger Games Trilogy, by Suzanne Collins, Narrated by Carolyn McCormick, Produced by Scholastic Inc., downloaded from audible.com.

The hunger games are over, Katmiss and Peter survived, the rules have always been that once the victors have been chosen for that year, they are exempt from ever having to participate in a game again. But because Katmiss has shown herself to be able to encourage such rebellion, President Snow wants her dead. So for the 75th anniversary of The Games, he determines that the participants will be victors from former years, two per district. No one is happy with this, particularly not the victors, many of whom are older now, and Katmiss is particularly upset because it means that this time only one victor is to survive, so she will again be placed in opposition to Peter. The games start, but this time The Capitol and The President don’t have the same control over the districts. Some districts are rebelling, and some of the game participants are forming alliances together. Thus, finally, without waiting for a victor, the President shuts down the games and obliterates District 12, Peter and Katmiss’s district. But we have to go on to the next book to see who has survived and who will continue to survive.
