When a contractor is found dead after a UVA women's basketball game the town of Crozet, VA has another murder on it's hands in this 2003 entry in the Mrs. Murphy series. The story itself for me goes a bit too long & even with the obligatory second murder of a lover tied into our victim H.H. Donaldson, Brown goes a bit too far with unnecessary plot details & really does everything she can to make a story that should be much shorter go far longer than it should. Neither the animal or human characters in this story are as interesting as in past books although there is a case where if animals could talk the results would be different. Otherwise just an average book that could be shorter in this series.
