it was ok
bookshelves: contemporary, literature

A camp cook in a logging camp and his son are on the run in this long book, after tragic events leave them fugitives from a violent, vengeful sheriff. A complex storyline and some interesting settings and situations, but, in the end, it was boring to me. Got tired of the repetitiveness of some of the language and plot, and was not all that interested in most of the characters. One exception was the lumberjack character of Ketchum who was funny, eccentric and over-the-top.
