I have mixed feelings about this book, on the one hand some of the humor cracked me up, on the other hand, there wasn't enough togetherness of the two main characters.

"Crush" is a polar bear shifter cop who used to work undercover. Until his cover was blown and he was transferred to the shifter division of the squad. He doesn't handle it well, because 1) he likes his old job being undercover and 2) bears don't handle change well.

Cella is one of the elite KZS agents (also only shifters) who's a "contractor," which is a nice way to say assassin. She is NOT a cop. She is also a kick ass hockey player for a shifters-only team, Crush's favorite team as it so happens.

Cella thinks he's cute and all, but she only flirts with him at first because she knows it annoys him. She then pretends he is her boyfriend to get her family off her back. It's pretty far into the book before they actually act on any attraction.

A lot of the book is centered on hockey, Cella's crazy family and other characters from previous books in the series.

Oh, and the book description on the goodreads page (which I am sure is the same on amazon) isn't really accurate. Sure, Crush doesn't really like what she does, but it also doesn't really come up. There's isn't some epic clash, which may have made it more exciting.
