it was amazing
bookshelves: fiction, friendship, teen-topics, war, favorites

I used to teach this book. I first read it in high school, and I have loved the book every time I read it - about once per year (even now when I am not teaching it). I always saw Phinny and Gene as one person who was dualistic. This is a good coming of age story for adolescent males. It takes place during WW2 at a boys prep school, but the setting doesn't matter. The story is timeless.
