really liked it
bookshelves: chicklits, minty-fresh-chicklits

Nicely written. Well told story, Well developed first person voice for her Rachel. A very solid chick lit book.

It's not completely comprehensible though. Why would a hot man fall for a less hot woman when she doesn’t think she’s got anything to give him, she doesn’t think she deserves him and he gives us no other reasons?

I guess I'm supposed to assume that Rachel underestimates herself and is really a hot girl with no ego but instead I figure she’s dating out of her league. I think this because Rachel is self deprecating and Darcy (the bonafide hot girl) is very disparaging about her. One hot guy’s opinion can’t balance out that mass of evidence.

I read the first chapter of her next book Something Blue where the Giffin tells the story from Darcy's viewpoint and the voice rings false. It’s clear that one of the story telling voices came more easily than the other.
