I've written and re-written this review both in my head and on paper. This is an exteremely odd book to categorize or to get your arms around.

In many ways, it is a blend of "Sketches from a Hunter's Album" and Richard Brautigan. However, there is also an overlay of true faith. While the stories are all about Orthodox people, situations, and ideas, the faith sneaks up on you - usually when you are pondering a story later.

I once said in a High School Literary journal something along the lines of "read this for those pieces that touch your soul" - I honestly can't give any better advice for this book.
