really liked it

Fun, and quite gripping. Yes, men, you can read this, it's not ALL girly stuff. Of course, Bella is a heartless guttersnipe, with Stephanie Meyer not even showing Bella apologize to her father for taking his heart out and stomping on it (using the same words that her mother had used when leaving him). My wife suggested that that particular act that bothered me so might be typical self-absorbed teenage behavior. I prefer to read things that are so cool that they inspire me to be just a little better than I already am, rather than accurately reflecting immaturity. :) Not appropriate for the teenage throngs of girls who love it so -- at least, not unless they are emotionally mature and willing to discuss Bella's flaws with a grownup -- but a great exciting tale nonetheless.

Wendy I'm impressed that you read it, Randy! Wish I could get Van to. :} Calling Bella a "heartless guttersnipe" is too harsh, in my opinion (she's trying to save her dad's life, remember!), but I agree that Bella certainly has flaws. I'd be interested in your reaction to the partial draft of Midnight Sun (the same story from Edward's point of view, available online).
