Nice entry into the history of WASPs through humorous southern tale!

I've not read Flagg before, but this was a great deal of fun. Follows in split-time, a contemporary Southern lady, Sookie, who discovers a connection to a Polish family from Wisconsin. Split between her story in the current day, and the story of the Wisconsin sisters, their family's filling station, and the girls involvment in the Women Airforce Service Pilots. Really a touching story and nice tribute to those women's service and sacrifice.
