Sarah Hey, please reconsider your use of the word spirit animal. This article explains it better than I can: https://www.spiralnature.com/spiritua...

Westerville Sarah & Kristin, thank you both for sharing your thoughts. The library’s goal here on Goodreads is to continue the conversations that books inspire. We appreciate your perspectives on this review and the additional food for thought that you’ve provided!

Sarah Hi! I appreciate the library's goal here on Goodreads is to continue conversations that books inspire. However, this is not about the book but rather about a review that uses a problematic term. One of the core values of librarianship put down by ALA is diversity. Specifically, they say "value our nation's diversity." You cannot do this by using this term that is insensitive to indigenous cultures and culturally appropriative. For example, Rick Riordan removed the term from one of his works due to this. https://www.slj.com/?detailStory=rior.... Lizzo, the popular singer, called it out in her tweet here: https://twitter.com/lizzo/status/9926.... Teen vogue even covered the issue of racism against indigenous people here: https://www.teenvogue.com/story/how-r....
