Read 2 times. Last read September 8, 2019 to September 11, 2019.

Saint X is a 2020 mystery / drama release, and it's definitely one you'll want to keep an eye out for. This book is on the slower side, so I wouldn't really call it a thriller, but it's full of mysteries and drama. The writing is so pretty, and I was immediately hooked.

The characters felt distant from the reader, especially at the beginning, which I don't always like, but it made it more interesting for the story that was being told so that you could look at everything objectively. This book does give super detailed backgrounds to several characters, and at times, it feels unnecessary. I found myself skimming these parts at times, but I never lost interest enough to want to stop reading the book.

I really liked the true crime-style element of the book, and it felt like this is something that could happen (it reminded me of the Natalee Holloway case a bit). I wasn't wild about the ending, but it worked well enough. This is a really interesting story, and I think people who read mysteries / suspense frequently will find this book to be refreshing, especially because of the gorgeous writing. Saint X will be out on 2/18/20. Thank you to Celadon Books for sending me a copy!
