Little Hoot hates his bedtime is so late. When Little Hoot complains that all of his other friends get to go to bed earlier, his father proclaims their family goes to bed late. This is a very funny story of how roles are switched in the family. This would be a great book to discuss the life cycles of owls and why they stay up so late. It's also a great read aloud for the first days of school. This book can be used for second grade to discuss the life cycle of different organisms such as a mammal.
