really liked it

This was very well written, but too repetitive. I don't think the book needed to be as long as it was. That said, I found myself so drawn to find out more about Vincent Van Gogh after seeing and being blown away by "Starry Night over the Rhone" in San Francisco last year. I learned one term from this book that helped describe an impact he made on me. "Impasto" is the thick application of a pigment to a canvas", which described one of his techniques that moved me. Hearing, too, how wildly and furiously he painted, helps fill in what it would have been like watching him paint my favorite Starry Night. Even though I languished around in the middle of the book for awhile, I'm really glad I stuck through it all the way to the end.
