really liked it

This is the second in Holford’s series about baseball stars in the Nashville Slammers finding love. In this one, catcher Sawyer McBain is surprised to find himself attracted to Addy Carlisle. He’s so used to people, especially his awful mother and brother, wanting to use him for his money or celebrity that he almost can’t believe that one woman could be as straightforward as she seems. All she wants his help for her charity. She also wants to help him deal with the annoyances in his life.

There were points when I thought the plot was going one way and then it didn’t. I appreciated not having the obvious plot turns. It was nice to have a story about good people finding each other.

I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book that I received from Netgalley; however, the opinions are my own and I did not receive any compensation for my review.
