This is a very sweet book about family and belonging. Tess and her family live on a small island off the coast of Maine. In order to save the village school, several families take in foster children. Aaron comes to live with Tess and her family after already living in several other foster homes. Aaron is slow to trust Tess and adapt to living on small island, but by the end of the book it looks like Aaron is adapting to his new home. Aaron's life opens Tess' eyes to how much she really has with a loving family.
