** spoiler alert ** A delightful mystery featuring Tensing Norbu, Tibetan monk turned detective. Ten decided to leave the LAPD after 9 years of service and go out on his own as a private detective. A former cult member shows up at his door, and the next thing we know, she's dead. He decides to investigate and a cast of characters emerge to help him get to the bottom of the murder. He visits John D, a man who owns the property next to the cult property. Their cover is that they are a pig farm, a great way to keep people away simply due to the stink! It turns out Normal D, rancher and cult neighbor's son is involved with the head of the cult, Brother Eldon, whose real name is Thomas O'Flaherty. An ex-con, this is his scheme for making money. The third member of this plan is Florio's son-in-law, Vince Barsotti (who Tensing catches screwing a prostitute) Florio, an attorney hire Tensing to find out what his son is up to. He knows something fishy is going on. Long story short, they catch the bad guys, Tensing loses the girlfriend, who says she's going back home to start over but now knows she can love again (the good news). Tensing is back to hanging out with his cat, Tank.
