Popping WOW! "The Glass Castle" blew me away. The family itself seem like a Glass Castle. Very delicate and fragile but moments of light flooding in their lives and souls, and though they can easily break as a family unit, there was a strong fortress of family ties that stood noble and above the world. Ms. Walls was very charitable and matter-of-fact when writing about her family and childhood. There was no trace of self-pity. Alot of things she describe about Welch,WV blew me away. I known of families like these in WV. I am born and raised, and continue to live in WV. There are still places like the ones she describes and people still live in "Shacks". Yet, what she described at times really had my jaw dropping. "Glass Castle" is a must read novel!
