My final take: the book suddenly became a tarot deck in the remaining pages. That's the best I could explain it. Abstract, surreal, and just on the edge of sense, just about to tell you something about your life, if you let it.

The tense-shifting of the last sentence in "Fried Pies" was great and pleasing stuff. I could feel the whole little-crystalline-world the previous sentences had created suddenly torque and twist and blossom in my brain. Well done."
