Qualification: A Graphic Memoir in Twelve Steps (Pantheon Graphic Library)

A narcissist creates a monumentally narcissistic work about his narcissism. The back cover tells me this is hilarious, but all I felt was anger and exhaustion as I read. But then I decided, fuck that asshole, I'm not letting him have that kind of power over me, and let it go. He can try to live with his crap; I don't have to.
Seriously, though, his wife could gun him down in the street in front of a hundred people tomorrow, present this as Exhibit A at her trial, and walk out a free woman from any court in the land.

Elizabeth wrote: "Oh my goodness! Just put this one on my library list. Will see if I concur. I think I might ..."Be warned too that it takes a long, long time to read for a graphic novel. Over two hours for me.
Kevin wrote: "I totally agree with you. Well put."Thanks! Your review captured most of the elements of the book that were really angering me. Nicely done.
David wrote: "Oh my god, I agree with you! I hated this book!"Wow! A David Schaafsma 1-star review. I don't think I've seen one of those before.
So of course I researched . . .
Out of your thousands of reviews, you have only given 1-star ratings 44 times, compared to my 170. We have agreed five times. The Hall of Shame:
Ann Tenna
Fight Club 2
Imagine Wanting Only This
Vanishing Act

"You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy."
There were a couple more where I gave two stars to your one, but the only place we really split was on the modern classic Twilight, an absolute 4-star book, but I will forgive you that misstep.
Dave wrote: "i only now saw this, sorry. Those five only make me shudder."Truly horrible. A Shit Hall of infamy. Vanishing Act might be the worst.
Just for fun I MIGHT read Clanchy's book, just so I can. . . "give it a fair review" (and possibly add it to my list of one -star reviews, which I need to beef up to gain the kind of credibility you have). As I have said about you, when you give a five star review, it has more credibility than my five star reviews, because I am just too nice. There's really no justification for over-rating some books.

MeowMeowBeenz™ — Yelp for people — is coming one day and we should all live in fear of it.
