I loved this book so much. The writer demonstrates incredible versatility and skill in her use of perspective and point of view that the main character is an enigma and familiar at the same time. I also love how her characters are not good or bad, and even old Magnus Flett, who is seen by his wife as a piece of flint, has the depth of feeling and response to the world that makes him just as human as anyone else.
