really liked it
bookshelves: contemporaryfiction, crazypeoplememoirs, young-adult
Read in January, 1993

i read this a loooong time ago. it's written in diary style, and frankly, i don't care if it's true or not - i suppose years of studying "primary sources" have kind of jaded me. the fact is that this book completely affected me on how "good" kids could get pulled into the "world of drugs" that we like to think affects everyone else . . .

i don't know. it was important in my development (though i did try pot years later), i think it kind of stimulated my interest in addiction.

Leigh God, this book--I read it in junior high, snuck it out of the school library and hid it in my backpack and read it on walks home from the bus. I remember being terrified afterward that I would unintentionally become a drug addict if someone slipped something to me.
