liked it
bookshelves: depressing, fantasy, never-finished

Okay, I really enjoyed this book, I must admit - it was creepy and strange, the introduction to the character and her peculiarities, and very well-written.

The book drew me in and the story kept me guessing and eager to know what was going to happen next.

I never finished it. In fact, I don't think I even got halfway through it. This is not so much a reflection on the book itself as my own issues - the descriptions of literally being locked into a mental institution, even in the guise of a house, to the point that she was not allowed to step outside?

It hit buttons, really big buttons that are attached to anxiety attacks and inability to sleep on my part.

So while I really liked what I read of this book, and I did then - and still do - want to know what happened, how the story would have progressed, I probably will never read it. I hope to eventually be able to, though, both because of what I remember and what I've heard - which is that it is a wonderful, complex story.
