There were a lot of things going on in this book--Rory's family, her fish-out-of-water year at a boarding school in London, Jack the Ripper, ghosts--but once I sorted through things to the actual plot, I found it entertaining and interesting. A very quick read, and I liked the ending well enough to be on the watch for the next book in the series. Not quite 4 stars, but a very high 3.

This is probably where I confess that I am geeky enough that I had a hard time not seeing Jo as a variation on Hayley Atwell's Peggy Carter (of Captain America) but there are worse mental associations, right?
