really liked it

Another thoroughly entertaining issue with Rechy on Los Angeles, his over-the-top style almost like a parody of beat era writing, a Henry Miller excerpt from Nexus, a radio play by Beckett, and other solid works from the era. I really liked the William Eastlake short story "Three Heroes and a Clown," the school days memoir by Cynthia Ozick, and, my favorite piece in the issue, Jerry Tallmer writing about chauffeuring Billie Holiday to a late-career concert in New York.
