it was amazing

Anne Tyler's genius is that she takes a common thought -- here, "what if everything I've done in my life is absolutely wrong" and she leads us into a person (Rebecca) and a family, that soon feel like they're part of us. I know these characters will always be a part of me. I read Tyler's books over and over, and still can't quite grasp how she accomplishes this miracle.
She shows us all the characters in a family -- how maddening each one of them can be -- and still we love every single person she writes about. Even Min. If you love Anne Tyler, too, please tell me other authors that manage this feat.
