it was amazing

Strout fans will enjoy this collection of short stories connected by the characters' relationships to some aspect of Lucy Barton's life. It is a kind of prequel/sequel to My Name is Lucy Barton, revealing both backstories and present situations of the stories' characters, and the only disappointment for me was that Lucy's mother's backstory wasn't included in the collection. It easily can stand on its own, but I'd suggest reading My Name is Lucy Barton first.
