really liked it

A powerful story well told and artfully woven into the history of genealogy, DNA testing, and early fertility medicine. There are times when I worry that memoirs were written more for the author than the audience, and it was definitely written from a vulnerable perspective, so there is a lot of emotion and reflection (bordering on too much); however, Dani Shapiro does an incredible job of making her situation relatable and even compelling without exploiting herself or her family. I found it especially powerful given my own experience finding my grandmothers biological mother through DNA testing.
