it was ok

Each of the stories is well written, yet for me lacked the "pop" I would hope for from fiction - a surprise ending, hidden meaning or unexpected turn. Some are just stories, some are stories dealing with a moral issue, , some might lend themselves to a discussion on a topic, some are a kind-of apology for Orthodoxy. Some struck me as being a non-fiction point he wanted to make and decided to encase it in a story, but the point is so obvious that the story isn't even needed. The last story is the best in terms of presenting interesting theology, but it is the story of a professor giving a lecture - it could have been Breck's own lecture - the story is of no consequence to the points being made.
