The Next Target is a suspenseful book about the shadowy underground leader of a group of American Muslims and the spunky American Christian widow who is determined to share Jesus in that same community.

Austia, the American widow, teaches English to a group of immigrants at the local center. Secretly, however, she is prepared to share the gospel with those very same students, if the students ask her for assistance. After one student converts to Christianity, the leader of the American Muslim community begins to fear own his loss of control and wields the power of his misinterpretations of his own personal brand of Islam. Austia learns that she is indeed "The Next Target" and must run for her life and the safety of those she works with.

The Next Target is an intriguing read into a world that many Americans might not have ever read about before. The author, Nikki Arana, runs a ministry that works with newly-converted Muslims and seems to draw extensively from her own personal experiences. The book is very exciting in the beginning and extremely compelling towards the end of the book. The middle of the book does briefly bog down a bit as the author explains the many characters and the all-important cultural differences at the heart of the novel's conflicts. The Next Target is an interesting book about grace and love and the power to change.

I received an ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review but the opinions in this review are all mine.
