How can you not like this classic. It is written in straight forward dialog and description. It is an adventure story that grabs you from beginning to end. Like most adventures, when things are going right, everything is splendid and exciting, but when they go wrong, they go very very wrong.

This tale of two adventurers that have a plan to travel the same path as Alexander the Great, into a land of riches where no other westerner has traveled is rich with British humor the seriousness of responsibility, forbidden love and betrayl. A must read classic.
