it was amazing
bookshelves: kids
Read in January, 1969

I have remembered this book for years in bits and pieces and have never been able to remember what it was called. Finally, through goodreads, I was able to find out the title and I ordered the book from Amazon!

I loved loved loved this book as a child, and skimming through it again, I think it would have been a great one for my daughter when she was younger. I wish I had found it sooner, but I highly recommend it as a read aloud, or read alone for stronger readers. I would guess would be of most interest to kids through 2nd grade.

Becca I had to laugh when I read your review because I read this in about the third grade and just loved it. As an adult I kept describing it to librarians, hoping one of them could tell me what it was..."There's an old witch who is banished and she lives with a little girl witch and a spelling bee named Malachi. The little girl witch goes to school and no one likes her...there are two regular little girls...nothing?" Anyway, I finally found it by just sheer luck, on Google books one day. It has been fun reading it again! I was surprised how much I actually got right!
