really liked it

Well, I know better than to except a happy novel from David Vann--but this one was not only dark, the story was completely bizarre. Talk about your dysfunctional families--abuse, incest, bulimia, secrets, greed . . . they have it all. No wonder 22-year-old Galen is trying to achieve transcendence. And no wonder he chooses the most horrifying way to go about it. This book is not for the faint of heart, but for me it was like watching a train wreck. I couldn't put it down.
