it was amazing

As a lady of more mature years myself, it made a very pleasant change to read a book where the hero was not too much younger than myself. So what if the woman he wants is twelve years younger than him and has a much flatter stomach than me?
Melissa is a thirty-four year old widow with a ten year old daughter. Cary is her forty-six year old neighbour who was also her late husband's friend.
The transition from friends to lovers can be a slow and arduous one, especially when someone is as stubborn (and oblivious) as Melissa.
This is a gentle and humorous slow-burn tale with well-drawn characters throughout.
However, as much as this a love story between Cary and Melissa, it is Abbey the goat queen that steals the show!
