it was amazing
bookshelves: historical, nonfiction
Read in February, 2012

I saw on Meetup that a Virginia history book group was reading this book by an old professor of mine from college (I took his Civil War course 25 or so years ago) and decided to read it. It was long at 600 pages. The book is a monumental achievement. It was mostly from Lincoln’s point of view and exposed that he was really a very effective politician and lawyer. It would perhaps have been better to see more of the reaction of others to Lincoln, but that would have changed the focus.
