This is a Pulitzer Prize-winning book...

And I just don't quite get it. Mildly entertaining, quirky characters, vibrant setting, but beyond that, there wasn't much profundity, neither in plot nor character development.

What am I missing? Did that just fly right over my head?

Katie i could not finish this book for the life of me. it was mildly entertaining, but not as hilarious as people say. could not get into the story so i gave up. of course, that guy on the boat down in ecuador liked it so much he couldn't put it down and didn't understand why i wasn't enthusiastic about it. maybe it's just one of those books you either love or feel completely apathetic about. i dunno.
