For me, a five star review is usually linked to how re-readable a book is. I look forward to reading SBSB again. Several of the stories in this anthology connected with me. I love that there were two Halloween tales included. I tend to romanticize what train travel is like, and so “This Our Angry Train” was a treat. From the Acknowledgements we learn a little of the Author’s history, which provided source for a recurring theme throughout SBSB. It’s a history that I can relate to and which made those particular stories all the more meaningful.

I do a lot of Kindle reading. Sometimes though, when I finish an especially good book, I do get a little extra sense of connection with the Author when I’m holding the physical copy in hand, after closing the book, while taking one last longing look at the cover (it doesn’t hurt that she wrote an inscription and signed my copy 😊).
