Zoe McKnight Probably one of my fav EG books. On the surface it seems that the Ellen's choice should be simple. She's got a good husband at home, she's living a charmed life. But who could ever describe life as "simple"? I think most women of a certain age know what it's like to yearn for "the one who got away", and not b/c they're necessarily a great guy but b/c they didn't get closure. ( Men experience this too although they'll never admit to using the word closure) So, I get it when Ellen gets sidetracked by an encounter with her broody, self-involved ex. And when all else is going well in your life, self-relection often occurs and people get to wondering if they're where they're supposed to be. Truth be told, a small part of me wanted to see her get with Leo b/c he made her feel alive, whereas Andy made her feel safe. But I'm glad for her decision. I think Emily did a great job of tapping into real human emotions and allowing us to see the characters' layers without vilifying any of them. I'd highly recommend it.
