This book was just ok for me. I take no issue with the writing, which I actually liked. I also listened to the audio, and the narration was really well done. But I'm just not that into the dynamic between Elsa and Nolan. Parts of this novel did appeal to me - I liked the premise of people trying to figure out the meaning of science on a dying planet (or a planet that won't support life the way humans have known it anymore), and how to live on this planet. The characters are flawed and often petty, which feels very true to life. But in the end I wasn't super invested in the characters, and the ending seemed a little too neat or simplistic for me. That said, I enjoyed parts of it, and liked it enough to finish it, which I don't always do. So, a solid medium. I would check out other work by this author in the future, but this isn't my favorite.
