it was amazing
bookshelves: australia, england, malaysia, audiobook
Read in April, 2012

The first half of the book is set in 1950s London & World War II Malaysia, the second half in the Outback. The story is time-stamped in the 50s, allowing you to imagine what life would have been like at that time, & the incredible hardships that people endured. In addition to an intriguing love story unfolding, we also learn how to grow rice & dig a well. Fascinating.
