really liked it
bookshelves: fiction, family

It took a while to get into this book. I may have just not been in the mood. The book is written in the style of a series of very poetic letters, which I didn't appreciate until the end of the book. But if you can get past all the early background (which also turns out to really contribute to the book), then this book is really interesting. It's an interesting take to see the disconnect between Eva and Kevin. There is no empathy or sympathy in this book at all and Kevin is malicious from the very beginning. The ending of the book is of course horrible and extremely vivid and hard to read.
