it was ok

** spoiler alert ** Ugh! This used to be a genre that I enjoyed, but that was a long time ago. I did manage to finish it so I didn't hate it so much I gave up, but sometimes I wanted to. There wasn't too much that happened that wasn't broadcast from a mile away. For example:

- The person who was blamed for the crimes may as well have been named Red Herring since no one, other than the police and FBI in the book, would ever think he was the one that did it.

- The police chiefs' actions, even though blamed on imminent retirement, were that of someone who was trying to hide something he knew. No matter how soon you're retirement is, a serial killer in your town is something you get worked up over.

- No one ever said that they were looking for a serial killer, even after they had 21 bodies dug up on a farm. 21!

I did enjoy the two main characters enough, but their supporting cast was not great. And I still have issues with a psychic schizophrenic. Really?
